Folk & Fork, at the start

I first started Folk & Fork back in 2018 as an Instagram blog. I posted content about being a housewife, home decor, some nutrition, some political, and lots of photography. It really was just a place that I just shared whatever I wanted to share. Slowly it just became a place for my photography, which was fine for a season, but it lost it’s passion. This past year, I’ve been trying to decide what to put my focus into, and although it was photography for a bit (and may always be), it wasn’t fulfilling for me. I want to help people, and talk about things that I really care about.

The year prior to starting this account, I had completed my Nutritional Therapy certification, but I never did anything with it. I was honestly scared to start. I was scared to work with people one-on-one, and I also just got tired of talking about food all of the time. Fast forward almost 7 years later, and my passions are all the same.

I want to help people on different levels. I am knowledgeable about nutrition, health, and wellness of course, but I want it to be so much more than that. I want to come along side someone and tackle the myriad of issues that effect our wellness, which includes what we eat, how we move, and what meaning our lives have for us. You can eat healthy but still be unwell. You can live well but still be physically sick. It’s all connected and it’s all important. Humans are complex beings, our bodies are beautifully complex machines, and we deserve to live to our fullest.

As an individual, I am no miracle worker, I don’t have all of the answers. But sometimes just having someone come along side you and guide you through the parts that you aren’t as sure about is just what you need to make the important changes. That is what I am working toward, being a health and wellness guide, as much as a coach.

We live in a modern world where everything we want to know is at our disposal, but it’s too much. There is too much information, too much deception, and too much going against us. We live in a crucial time where taking control of our own lives, our own health, matters more than it ever has.

Welcome to Folk & Fork, I’m glad you’re here. Let’s be better and do better, together.
